Dan weet je dat je met top- sporters te maken hebt.Topsporters, maar u komt ook heel dicht bij echte toppaarden?Naast de belangrijkste wedstrijden over heel de wereld,heb ik het geluk soms ook reportages te mogen maken in bekende stallen. Zo zal ik mijn bezoek aan de stal van HRH Princess Haya in Dubai en Newmarket nooit vergeten. Paardengek als ik ben, maak ik er ook steeds een gewoonte van om elk paard ook even te aaien (lacht). Ratina Z. of Darco zijn maar enkele bekende paarden die ik van dichtbij mocht beleven.Waarom vindt u ‘eventing’ de mooiste discipline?Als echte buitenmens houd ik inderdaad wel van die wed- strijden door de bossen en weiden. Eventing is voor mijde meest complete vorm van paardensport omdat zowel dressuur, springen als een crossparcours aan bod komen. Eventing levert ook de meest spectaculaire beelden op, maar ze verschijnen niet vaak in de media omdat jumping veel meer aandacht krijgt. Nochtans kan ik iedereen aanraden eens naar een eventing te gaan kijken. Bijvoorbeeld in Bad- minton. Die wedstrijd kan je qua beleving vergelijken met de jumping van Aken.Die Jumping van Aken leverde u ook al een mooie prijs op.‘Aachen’ is het belangrijkste concours, vergelijkbaar met Wimbledon in het tennis. De organisatoren van Jumping Aken reiken jaarlijks de ‘Zilveren Camera’ uit, een presti- gieuze prijs in de paardenwereld. Ik won in 2013. Dat ik de prijs in het stadion in Aken, in aanwezigheid van 43.000 paardenliefhebbers in ontvangst mocht nemen, bezorgde me toch even kippenvel.Ook Puissance Magazine weet uw werk ten zeerste te waarderen.Via Rob Ehrens kwam ik in contact met Mirko Paglia en hoorde ik van de plannen om Puissance Magazine uit te geven. Ik werk er heel graag aan mee door een reeks foto’s aan te leveren.
