Hier gaan we met een camera via de neus in de keel bepaalde afwijkingen opsporen.MEDISCHE BEELDVORMING:De dienst medische beeldvorming staat onder leiding van Marieke Zimmerman en laat ons toe een exacte diagnose te stellen bij het paard.• Staande MRI van Hallmarq om scans van de benen uit tevoeren op het rechtstaande paard.• CT van het hoofd kan rechtstaand gebeuren bij tandpro-blemen, sinusitis, neusvloei, headshaking,...• CT van benen, inclusief elleboog en knie en hals gebeurtonder volledige anesthesie.• Nucleaire scintigrafie of botscan is een scan van hetrechtstaande paard. Het volledige skelet van het paard wordt in beeld gebracht. Scintigrafie toont ons zones van actieve botontsteking.In the equestrian hospital Equitom doctor Tom Mariën and his staff treat horses day and night on a daily base. We introduce a camera through the nose to examine the throat. That is how we can detect certain aberrations in the throat.Medical imaging:The department of medical imaging led by Marieke Zimmer- man, allows us to establish an exact diagnosis of a horse.• Standing MRI of Hallmarq to scan the legs of a standinghorse. MRI offers a detailed image of both weak tissue andbone.• We can make a CT of the head while the sedated horse isstanding up. This is necessary for tooth problems, sinusitis,running nose, head shaking, etc.• A legs’ CT including elbow and knee, and neck (with C6-C7and mostly C7-T1) takes place under full anaesthesia.• Nuclear scintigraphy of a bone scan is a scan performedon the standing horse. The complete skeleton is pictured. Scintigraphy shows us the zones of the active bone inflam- mation.
