We hebben klanten uit de Benelux, maar ook uit Frankrijk, Spanje, Polen, Denemarken, Zweden, Tsjechië, Engeland, Amerika, Japan, Qatar en de Emiraten. Dagelijks hebben we te maken met echte toppaarden van over de hele wereld, maar even goed spring ik morgen in de bres om een pony of ezel van de buren te redden.Bent u wel eens thuis?Ik ben altijd thuis, want ik woon hier met mijn vrouw en dochtertje op het domein (lacht). Het klopt wel dat er niet veel tijd voor hen overblijft, want Equitom is 24 uur op 7 dagen open. Als ze me nodig hebben, dan ben ik er, want ik wil alle operaties zelf doen. Op deze manier leven, kan alleen als je er passioneel mee bezig bent. Soms vragen ze me wel eens hoe ik het zo kan volhouden, maar ik doe het nu al vijftien jaar en nog elke dag met evenveel plezier.Het was een aangename kennismaking. I think it is very important for everyone to feel good, clients, staff, horses ...You put much emphasis on sustainability too.All the buildings, the whole domain actually, reflect my character, so I chose sustainable materials. Everything must be clean and fully in order. We sort and recycle all our waste to quite high standards. We burn the horse manure and the stable straw. The resulting heat is used for the complete com- plex. All through the year we enjoy an agreeable temperature without using any fossil fuels.While waiting for you, we noticed many different languages being spokenIt is super important to welcome people cordially and prefer- ably address them in their own language. Our clientele comes from the Benelux countries, but also from France, Spain, Po- land, Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Britain, the USA, Qatar and the Emirates. We deal with top horses from all over the world on a daily base, but I certainly do not mind running out to the neighbours to help their pony or donkey.Do you happen to be at home some time?I am always at home as I live here with my wife and daughter on the domain (laughs). It is true there is little time left for them, for Equitom stays open round the clock for seven days out of seven. If they need me, I’m there because I like doing all operations myself. This way of life is only possible if you are passionately involved.
